Stanford Cancer Center South Bay

In July, Stanford Health Care opened their new cancer institute, the Stanford Cancer Center South Bay in San Jose, California.  This 70,000-square-foot medical office building is four stories and offers patients coordinated outpatient cancer services in one location, including diagnostic, treatment, and support services.

A light-filled main entrance and lobby greets patients and visitors, and comfortable waiting areas have built-in technology to maintain connection with daily life. Everything is arranged for comfort and efficiency with easy navigation, a universal check-in system, and centrally located reception desks on every floor.

The main strategy of the center was to bring a multidisciplinary care team to each patient’s exam room, rather than having patients move from one department to another during their visit.

Healthcare Design Magazine has an article and photo tour on this new cancer center.  To view all of the photos and read the article, click here.
