Open Space for Multiple Purposes

Open spaces that can be used for multiple purposes are the new norm when designing a hospital room. Particularity an operating room.

Evolving technology, multiple use equipment and team care-giving trends have all changed today’s perspective of an ideal environment. For instance, storage is less of an issue as more electronic record keeping techniques are implemented. Team care-giving is much more common and therefore needs a flexible work environment and open access to patient rooms. Technology is evolving and becoming for efficient by taking up less space and doing more things. Also, equipment is more mobile and furniture can now serve multiple functions all while being on wheels for easy arrangement.

Today’s new environment offers flexibility because it doesn’t dedicate any one space for any specific purposes. In the end, these multipurpose rooms are yielding fantastic results both in the way patience are handled and the hospitals bottom line.
