Happy Holidays from WDS!

Holiday greetings from Wikoff Design Studio!!

The year 2020 has been one for the books, there is no doubt. I am looking forward to this holiday season more than in prior years. Even though it looks and feels different, one thing is constant. Goodwill and resiliency abound!

I’ve experienced firsthand the community outpouring for many non-profits, the one closest to my heart: Ronald McDonald House of Northern Nevada. From monetary donations to donated time, materials and service, it is clear that the community cares about this organization as I do.

One of the things I have enjoyed the most this year was volunteering my time and design services to the Ronald McDonald House renovation. We are close to finishing up this phase of renovations and will look forward to the unveiling.

The House has had minor updates over the years but wear and tear has definitely had an impact. Through the renovation project, the Ronald McDonald House has been upgraded and improved to include new flooring, paint, fixtures, furniture, and technology. The occupancy will expand from 12 rooms to 13 with the addition of a “clean room” for families with children undergoing oncology care.

I’ve also been impressed beyond words at our local community hospital Renown for their herculean efforts to combat Covid-19 and provide quality healthcare with the resources they had. In case you missed it, our very own Renown transformed a parking garage into a COVID-19 care facility in less than 2 weeks.

This holiday season, let us focus on resting and reflection, one for what we have accomplished and two for what we learned. May we ring in the new year and spend 2021 ramping up and repairing.

Wikoff Design Studio wishes you and your family a very joyful, healthy and happy holiday.
