An Inspiration to Healthcare Design – Evelina Children’s Hospital Does Everything Right

Below is a photo tour of  Evelina Children’s Hospital – one of the finest designed hospitals in the UK.  Evelina Children’s Hospital is located in London. The design elements such as color, private patient rooms, new staff facilities and an abundance of natural light are showcased below.

Evidence Based Research has proven that such design elements are effective in speeding up the healing process. They have also proven effective for healthcare providers ensuring that the hospital staff can give the best care to each patient.

Shown above is the lobby. The facilities jaw dropping architecture let’s light shine through.  The lobby also doubles as a teaching hospital for nearby King’s College. Shown below is a view of some of the teaching facilities:

Below is a play room with a slide called Helter Skelter.  The main motivation for the design was the children because they will be the ones using the hospital.  Play areas such as the one below are all over the hospital.

This futuristic slide is called a helter skelter. Shown below is a patient room. The clean architectural lines carry through to the private rooms. Color helps create a bright and cheery atmosphere. The abundance of natural light is healing and helps patient and family outlook.
