University of Alabama at Birmingham’s New Student Health Facilities
Healthcare Design Magazine recently ran an article on the new student health facilities at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. The center was created in order to meet the demands of the university’s growing population which has seen six years of record enrollment. The design team consolidated the existing Counseling and Wellness Center and the Student Health Services Center into one centrally located facility. It offers primary care with counseling space, exam rooms, laboratory spaces, an immunization area, X-ray room, waiting rooms, administrative areas, and offices. Green has been used as a common color theme throughout. We know from the Parkin Color Chart that green promotes balance, harmony, personal development, self-acceptance, compassion for self and others, and renewal.
