Steve Matson’s Moving Paintings help to create incredible relaxing and soothing environments. Studies have shown that nature scenes and soothing sounds have a profound ability to calm the mind and reduce stress.  When patients are subjected to them prior to having a medical procedure done, most experience less pain thus requiring less pain medication. These therapeutic Moving Paintings also benefit those suffering from insomnia, high blood pressure, chronic illnesses, anxiety and hypertension.

We strive to use art by Matson when designing because his work offers aesthetic appeal and several health benefits for patients, staff and family.  Recently I used four full scenes by Steve Matson at Hospital de Cancer de Barretos.   The vivid images of the virtual aquarium engage and soothe children, families, and visitors.
