South West Acute Hospital’s Modern Design Wins the Healthcare 2014 Design Showcase Merit Award
South West Acute Hospital’s modern design – 5 years in the making was honored with the 2014 Award of Merit for Healthcare Design.
Design techniques that made them stand out are use natural lighting, wayfinding techniques, private rooms and bathrooms with infection control, tunnels for healthcare providers and the most up-to-date technologies and energy saving components.

Winners were chosen by a panel of 25 judges—composed of architects, interior designers, providers, regulators, consultants, and researchers—who individually reviewed 100 projects before coming together in May at IIDA headquarters in Chicago to determine the winners.
1) South West Acute Hospital in Enniskillen, Northern Ireland
