Renown Health’s Senior Care Plus Facility Is Designed with Elders in Mind

Local hospital Renown Health offers members of Senior Care Plus, the largest Medicare Advantage Plan in northern Nevada, access to an exclusive, senior-focused primary care office in Reno, Nevada. The Senior Care Plus facility is designed with elders in mind. This includes centralized on-site services, community rooms, and supportive furniture.

Centralized On-Site Services

The Senior Care Plus facility provides seniors a one-stop visit, no matter how complex their care is. For example, patients can do labs onsite and see a network of geriatric-focused healthcare providers. On top of that, appointment times are longer ensuring patients don’t feel rushed and allowing ample time for doctor’s visits. The facility also provides drop-in times each day to have their questions answered. (Source)

Furniture Designed with Seniors in Mind

The Senior Care Plus facility features furniture designed with seniors in mind. All of the office chairs have armrests, so seniors can easily get in and out of them. Also helpful are the exam room chairs with remote controls for reclining the chair and lifting the patient’s legs. This makes exams, such as a diabetic foot exam, less of a strain. (Source)

Community Rooms

Renown Health understands that social connections are an important part of senior care. The Senior Care Plus facility offers seniors the community rooms as a place to connect. The community rooms are used for informative seminars and as a gathering place for members to mingle. The seminars focus on many interesting topics for older adults, such as diabetes, COPD, asthma, weight loss, nutrition, yoga and chair exercises. (Source)
