Promote Healing, Reduce Stress, and Inspire
In healthcare design, there are many environmental challenges. For instance, some high-tech imaging equipment must operate in fully enclosed rooms – similar to the equipment shown here.
As a healthcare designer, you must adhere to the environmental challenges and still create a space that promotes healing and helps relax patients and staff. One way to do that is by using the Sky Factory products. The faux skylights and windows are digital images of nature and natural light.
The Sky Factory
The Sky Factory products act as a solution to tough environmental challenges such as the one mentioned above. The virtual skylights and windows create a therapeutic, healing, and inspiring environment for patients and staff.
Wikoff Design Studio Examples
1) Here, two Sky Factory virtual skylights were installed by the Wikoff Design Studio for a project at Hospital de Cancer de Barretos.
Wikoff used Sky Factory products to emulate natural light in rooms that didn’t have windows. The digital skylights were mounted over patient’s beds to promote healing, reduce stress, and inspire.
2) Here at Renown Health Children’s Hospital, the therapeutic room acts as a portal to blue skies. Wikoff used kid-friendly images in this facility to alter the perception of an enclosed interior in a way that is fun, inviting and inspiring.
3) Renown Health’s Postpartum Suite features a Sky Factory installment that promotes a healthy postpartum healing experience. Because 10 – 15% of the female population is susceptible to postpartum depression, Wikoff wanted to ensure the environment for new mothers and their babies was is optimum setting to stave off anxiety, sadness and irritability.
