Creative Opportunities to Engage with Children of All Ages

In this upstate New York hospital, the designers created each floor around a theme/element that captures beloved New York landscapes.

The designs and architectural features recreate waterways, meadows, gardens and parks. Each floor has a theme and an icon to represent it. The icon is to help families remember which floor they are on.

Interactive design elements keep kids engaged and inspired. For example, on the Lake floor, children may be able to push buttons to cause bubbles to rise up through tubes in a wall.
