California State University Northridge Helps Students Stay Well

It is pretty common knowledge that stress and lack of sleep can make a person ill.  The California State University Northridge has renovated the lower level of a two-story classroom and office building into the Oasis Wellness Center in order to help their students combat these health problems.

There was already a rec center on campus.  The Oasis Wellness Center, opened in August, 2015, was designed for a more intimate experience where students can go to access such amenities as peer counseling rooms, massage therapy, and nutrition and wellness counseling. Students can even take a nap in specially designed pods located in a relaxation room, complete with low light levels, textured glass walls, and a water feature.

There are 10,000 square feet of lounging and outdoor areas, some of which include fireplaces, a Zen garden, labyrinth, and a reflection patio.
