Designer Marie Wikoff of Reno, NV specializes in healthcare design. She is always looking for ways to use natural light to inspire each space, but in many cases, natural light is limited in some patient areas. In this particular photo, the use of faux skylights are used to simulate natural light and they also play a major role in the healing processes for the patients. There are picture windows in each room, but not all of them can face towards the sun.
Strategically placing the faux skylights overhead will help the patients at the children’s hospital in Brazil feel energized, happy and creative, ultimately making them more productive in the healing process.
