Palo Alto Medical Foundation San Carlos Center
Interior Design Magazine recently featured the Palo Alto Medical Foundation San Carlos Center in an article on their website. This new facility was designed to be a gateway to the community and a symbol for positive development, focusing particularly on well-being.
Outside, there are courtyards and enclosed gardens for patients to connect with nature and relax in between procedures. The outside is then brought in with a glass-enclosed walkway, a long live-edge walnut bench and a metal canopy cut with a leaf pattern which casts a shadow onto the walkway’s floor, which continually changes throughout the day. There are also more than 50 photos of the San Carlos landscape along the waiting areas and corridors.
The design team took extra care in making all areas of the hospital comfortable for the families, the patients and the staff. To read more about this facility and view the slideshow on the Interior Design website, click here.
